Taste note
-
Colour:
Deep amber
-
Nose:
In the first part, honey, heather tea, baked malt, light smoke, elegant woody notes in the background, not much change, but the overall feeling is very comfortable. Its age gives you more complexity than the younger versions of Aberfeldy. Ripe nectarines, orange peel, heather honey, vanilla, fresh sawdust
-
Palate:
The Madeira finish has a smooth body, but the quality of the Madeira is too thin. The taste buds absorb the taste of heather nectar and wood, and the final rhyme is light and long and gradually disappears, also notes of thyme, honey, vanilla in the background.
-
Finish:
A medium long finish with oak spices, vanilla and citrus notes like lime and oranges peal with hints of Madeira flavors.
-
Conclusion:
A sweet and delicious Aberfeldy. But that's what Aberfeldy is known for, its sweet and luscious taste with lots of vanilla and citrus notes. This Madeira finish gives it just a more complex note to this Aberfeldy. Something I like to see more of hopefully in the near future.
