Nose:
The nose starts out with a combination between citrus aromas and fruit aromas. Also noticeable are the vanilla, raisins, sultana and cinnamon. In the background you will get toffee apples and hints of honey, oak and caramel.
-
Palate:
Fresh green apples in combination with citrus flavors and some spices. The combination between these flavors are well balanced. Lovely hints of vanilla, honey, caramel, oak shavings, and raisins.
-
Finish:
Medium long finish with lovely fruits and citrus flavors with in the background some cereal and vanilla.

Conclusion:
This expression of The Macallan is a bit better then the gold edition. its feel less thin and a bit more complex. This because it's slightly older than the gold. More maturation in oak. I would say this is a good example if you want to start out with drinking single malt whisky. the balance between everything is quite well done.
