Released in 2005 and limited to only 470 individually numbered decanters worldwide, the first decanter in the Lalique Six Pillars Collection contains an alluring 50 Years Old Macallan single malt. Taking their inspiration from the exceptional oak casks in which The Macallan is matured, the master craftsmen of Lalique created a decanter which unites intricately etched details that represent their mastery of wood with a realisation of the art nouveau style that is synonymous with Lalique.

55 year old Natural colour
The Macallan in Lalique 55 Years Old decanter was released in 2007, with only 420 individually numbered decanters made available worldwide. Inspired by Lalique’s classic Paquerettes tiara perfume bottle, this decanter is a nod back to the designing power and influence of Rene Lalique in 1910. Made in varying amber coloured crystal to signify The Macallan’s natural colour, the decanter stopper embodies Lalique’s mastery of crystal and is one of the most difficult colours for crystal makers to achieve.

An aromatic 57 year old whisky is beautifully encased in this Art Deco style geometric decanter, first released in 2009, with only 400 individually numbered decanters available worldwide. The Macallan’s dedication to excellence in taking only the very best cut of ‘new make’ spirit from their stills is highlighted by the crystal maker’s perfume stilligoutte. The iconic “satiné” stopper points with a transparent edge to highlight the Finest Cut of The Macallan.

60 year old Curiously small stills
Released in 2011 and limited to only 400 individually numbered bottles worldwide, the Curiously Small Stills decanter encases an exceptionally rare 60 Years Old Macallan. Continuing the Art Deco style of the previous release, Lalique echoed the round kettle shape of The Macallan’s small pot stills, visible at the sides of this decanter. The stopper mimics the shape of the handle complete with copper from a retired still, whilst the cabochon detail mirrors the oval-shaped rivets around the stills’ windows.

62 years old The spiritual home
This rich 62 Years Old single malt whisky, bottled in a beautiful Art Nouveau style decanter, was released in 2014 with only 400 individually numbered decanters made available worldwide. The decanter brings to life their Spiritual Home, Easter Elchies House, in perfect crystal form. The frosted surface on three sides of the decanter represent the manor’s harled surface whilst Captain John Grant’s initials stand proud at the front of the decanter, etched to mimic the date stone. Finally, the bottle neck pays tribute to the crow-stepped gable leading up to the chimney.

65 year old Pearless Spirit
After over a decade of collaboration, The Macallan 65 Years Old in Lalique decanter is the concluding chapter in the Six Pillars story of The Macallan and completes the collection of Lalique Six Pillars decanters. Introduced in 2016 and limited to 450 individually numbered bottles worldwide, the 65 year old whisky contained within the decanter is one of the oldest and rarest ever released by the distillery.
This final, stunning, decanter reflects the wonderfully rich, viscous and aromatic spirit that lies at the very heart of The Macallan. Inspired by the artistic genius of Rene Lalique’s legacy, Marc Larminaux, Creative Director for Lalique, based the design of the decanter around a single peerless drop of The Macallan, symbolising their most precious spirit. Made with a blown and pinched technique for which Lalique is renowned, the decanter captures and suspends The Macallan’s Peerless Spirit. At 65 years old, the whisky encased in this crystal masterpiece is a true testament to the skill of each and every one of their craftsmen and a unique celebration of their unwavering commitment to sourcing, nurturing and maturing The Macallan single malt in exceptional oak casks.
